Bookkeeper- Wendy Morrison
Wendy grew up in Front Royal, VA. She graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and Data Processing and a minor in Office Procedures. She has been on staff since 2003. She has lived in Wytheville for 42 years and enjoys being a wife to Gerald Morrison, mother (to 2) and grandmother (to 2). In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dog, running, reading, canning, kayaking on the New River, and bike riding.
Office Manager – Tammy Jackson
Director of Music/Organist – Becky Absher
Becky joined the staff in June 2011 after a 30-year career as a microbiologist. Becky is a native of Birmingham, AL., but she enjoys the mountains of Virginia. She is an avid gardener and a relentless dog-lover. Becky is married to Hal Absher. They have one puppy named Cricket. They spend their free time hiking and skiing when Hal isn’t golfing or fishing.
Becky serves as director for the Chancel Choir as well as the Bell Choir.
Pastor – Rev. Dr. John Kilpatrick Langham
Rev. Dr. John Langham, (Pastor John) recently began his work here at Wytheville Presbyterian in November of 2020. He comes from New Hope Presbytery where he was for the past 13 years, the pastor of Ernest Myatt Presbyterian in Raleigh, N.C. He graduated from King College in Bristol, TN, where he holds a Bachelors degree in Bible and Religion. He also holds a Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary outside of Boston, Massachusetts, as well as a Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA.
Dr. Langham has served churches in Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, North Carolina and now Virginia. Dr. Langham grew up in Atlanta, GA. He is the son of missionary parents who served for almost 10 years on the mission field in Brazil. He is married to his wife, Rhonda and in June of 2020 they celebrated their 30th wedding Anniversary. Rhonda is a High School Special Education Teacher. They have no children, but do have a 9 month old golden retriever named Bayleigh.
Dr. Langham believes God has called him into the local church ministry. His ability and passion for preaching has grown over the years and he strongly feels that with his gifts and skills, he can be a blessing to our church. Pastor John enjoys golf, swimming, exercising, movies, and traveling.
